Visual arts residencies

The visual arts residencies are open to painters, printmakers, photographers and other visual artists, for three or four weeks in an 18th-century house in the centre of Arraiolos. Each artist is assigned a studio space according to their needs: natural light, wall space, a large table or access to the garden. The studios are open 24 hours a day.

Painters have studios with natural light and easels. Printmakers have an equipped printmaking workshop with a Reig 150 etching press, rollers and an inking table, for drypoint, collagraph and other techniques with water-based inks. Photographers have video projectors and speakers, and the town and the plains, olive trees and cork oaks around it a few minutes from the house.

Work is followed by our curator in individual and group meetings, and each residency ends with an open studio and a professional photo session of the work.
